A Leominster favorite! The Johnny Appleseed Festival is our annual event honoring Johnny Appleseed’s birthplace: Leominster! Right in the heart of the city downtown, there’s tons of food, live entertainment, vendors, giveaways, and more!
This years festival is on Saturday September 23, 2023 - admission is free to see over 180 vendors that offer everything from crafts, live music, delicious Apple Crisp along with delectable bites, and plenty of fun activities for the kids!
The festival celebrates the birth of John Chapman, the so-called “Johnny Appleseed,” an American pioneer best known for introducing apple trees to Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Ontario Canada. He was born September 26, 1774 right here in Leominster, MA!
Sholan Farms is a 169-acre farm, rich in history, owned by the City of Leominster and operated by the Friends of Sholan Farms. Located at 1125 Pleasant Street.
Sholan Farms is a great place to pick apples and other freshly-grown items. A very popular spot in the fall, the farm occasionally will hold events with promotions, performances, and giveaways. The fields are a very pretty and a scenic location for photography as it has a gazebo and long-stretching land!
Complete with sound effects, lights, and all the bells and whistles, this escape room facility is a must. There are multiple options based off difficulty and topic of escape rooms to choose from and to book for a few or multiple people. The staff is very friendly and will work with you to make sure you have a great time, also providing hints by request if you need them. Escape rooms are a very entertaining bonding experience for family gatherings, a group of friends, coworkers, etc!
Leominster’s reputable movie theater is the greatest place around to catch a movie. Entertainment Cinemas has a wide array of snacks and drinks for purchase while you catch the latest movie that just came out. The cinema also recently just got their liquor license so they now sell alcohol.
