Discovery Museum

Patrons of all ages can immerse themselves in the many interactive experiences that the Discovery Museum has to offer. Indoors, visitors can explore air, water, sound, math, light, and more through hands-on, up-close exhibits. Kids can take a step outdoors to visit the giant treehouse, cross the wiggly bridge and climb onto the nest swing or slide while you take in the beautiful scenery of the conservation land around the museum. Check the museum’s website for more details on their extensive events and programs schedule.

Acton Arboretum

The Acton Arboretum rests on free, public conservation land and is open from dawn to dusk. Explore a variety of Acton’s wildlife through a nature walk (dogs permitted under owners’ watch) or sit and enjoy lunch at one of the picnic tables. Maps are available at the entry kiosks to the arboretum and they are always accepting donations to enhance the space with trees, flowers, tables, and more.

Idylwilde Farm

Idylwilde is a locally known hotspot for fresh food. Open 8am-7pm each day except Tuesdays, the family-owned farmstand offers fresh produce, baked goods, cheeses, and meats as well as other specialty goods and sweets. The stand also sells homemade salads, sandwiches, and soups along with gift baskets for pre-order.

The Happy Chocolatier

Founded in 2011, The Happy Chocolatier aims to spread the mission of “chocolate happiness.” The company produces rich, all-natural chocolate with a unique characteristic: each chocolate contains a verse of wisdom. You can find The Happy Chocolatier in many shops throughout Massachusetts, but their delicious offerings are based out of their hometown of Acton.
